.net Web application and Sharepoint 2013

Hi we are running sharepoint 2013 on a server

I've tried to copy the folder of a web application from our old web server, into the www root folder on the sharepoint server

In IIS I have made the directory into an application

When I try browse to the site http://sharepoint/MyApp/MyPage.aspx

There page does not load

What could I do to get my .net web application working on the server which also has sharepoint running
